National NAACP Convention
The NAACP National Convention is an empowering and immersive experience held each year to celebrate our community's collective power. The Convention attracts innovative change-makers, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, scholars, entertainers, influencers, and creatives to network and exchange ideas.
At each national convention, our annual awards highlight the achievements of individuals and our branches, trailblazers who are actively on the front lines driving progress in business, law, education, and other sectors.
In honoring their work and commitment, we aim to further the legacy of our organization, while championing future generations of civil rights leaders.
The Executive Committee is currently accepting names of members in good standing that would like to represent our branch at the National Convention. Our branch can send six delegates and six alternate members to attend this event.
If you are a member in good standing, please email your desire to attend to onslownaacp@gmail.com.
The duty of a delegate is to attend ALL sessions of the convention that require a vote, so please be sure your schedule allows to you attend the entire duration of the convention.
The duty of an alternate is to take the place of a delegate if they are not available to attend.
This is a great opportunity to network with members of other branches, learn about the NAACP on a national level, learn the process of bylaws, resolutions, committees and more!
